Made of calibrated wooden logs and tousled twigs, the door touches the earth lightly. As if it had appeared under an insistent gaze, it invites us to cross a threshold, from the visible to the invisible, from contemplation to action, from reality to the extraordinary. For more than fifteen years, the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire has welcomed works born of what the place whispers in the artists’ ears, works imagined and created in situ, at the foot of the trees, in the groves, at the bend of a path, where branches cross… “Marvellous!”, the visitor exclaims in admiring astonishment, as they would before a sumptuous sunset. At Chaumont-sur-Loire, art highlights and sublimates the wonders of nature and, in the same impulse, the joy of seeing, discovering, thinking, breathing, letting oneself be moved…
